Uamsajeok Park
Overview
Uam Historic Park is a place where the great Confucian scholar Uam Song Shi Yeol (1607-1689) studied during the late Joseon Period. From 1991 to 1997, sixteen buildings including Jangpangak Pavilion, an exhibition hall, and a lecture hall were restored on 16,000 pyeong (floor space) and were reborn as a historic park. This place preserved with historical significant cultural assets such as Namganjeongsa, where the great scholar taught his disciples in his later years, Gigukjeong with outstanding architectural beauty, and Songjadaejeonpan, a collection Song Shi Yeol`s literary works. Also ,the park is well-decorated and is an excellent place to resting for the people in the city.
